I got this recipe from the Food Network show "Easy Entertaining with Michael Chiarello". I only made a half recipe to see if I liked it. I also simplified Michael's cooking instructions. His recipe didn't state what size onions to use so I had to guess and use an amount that would be suitable for low carb yet still provide enough onion flavor. I didn't add any salt and pepper to mine because I didn't think it needed it. Of course you could add some. A little sweetener might also be nice but I decided not to add any. This makes a nice change from the usual ketchup and mustard on burgers and I would make it again. I will also try it on a hot dog sometime but I eat burgers much more often and that's what I used this on.
