20 ounces ground turkey
1 small red onion, chopped fine, 2 1/2 ounces
1/2 red bell pepper, chopped fine, about 2 1/2 ounces
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1/2-1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/3 pound smoked Gouda cheese, cut in 1/4" dice *
1 tablespoon oilIn a large bowl, mix everything except the cheese and oil. Gently fold in the diced cheese. Shape in 4 patties, about an inch thick. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Cook the burgers 5-6 minutes per side or until done to your liking.
Makes 4 servings
Can be frozen* 1/3 pound equals 5 1/4 ounces or 151 grams. You'll need about 3/4 of an 8 ounce package of cheese. I used a blend of smoked Swiss and cheddar. You can't really taste the smoke flavor in these so you could use any kind of cheese.

These are from Rachael Ray's "Get Real Meals" and they're very good. I wondered if the peppers and onions would cook well enough in such a short time, but they were fine. I didn't make the sauce that goes with it because it didn't appeal to me. I served them with Mustard Slaw. Click the photo to see a close-up.
