BREADLESS BLT SANDWICH
2 slices Deluxe American cheese
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1/2 ounce lettuce
2 slices cooked bacon
1 1/2-2 ounces sliced tomatoOne at a time, make two cheese crisps, following the recipe directions, keeping the cheese slices whole. It will take about 30-60 seconds in the microwave per crisp depending on your microwave. Try to get them quite brown without letting them burn. Remove them from the parchment paper and let them cool. Spread the bottom sides of the crisps with mayonnaise then top one crisp with the lettuce, bacon and tomato. Place the second cheese crisp on top to create a sandwich.

While I was eating a cheese crisp made from a slice of American cheese, it hit me that the darker parts tasted a lot like toast. That gave me the idea to try making a BLT using two large cheese crisps. Make sure that you use real American cheese and not cheese "product". The one in the photo looks a little bit odd because I used chopped tomatoes instead of slices because that's all I had on hand. The flavor was still the same. This is a little messy to eat because the cheese crisps tend to crack. Just lean over your plate and bite into it slowly. If you use a slice of tomato, instead of chunks, they won't keep falling out like mine did. Click the photo to see a close-up.
