PRAIRIE DUST
1 tablespoon salt
1 1/4 teaspoons smoked paprika
1 1/4 teaspoons pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground coriander

Mix all of the spices in a small bowl then put in a spice jar. You can use it right away but I recommend allowing a day or two for the flavors to blend before using.

I found this recipe on the Top Secret Recipes site. It's a clone of a seasoning from the LongHorn Steakhouse which I've never been to. I have no idea what the original tastes like but I decided to tweak the recipe by using smoked paprika instead of regular paprika. I think it gives it a sort of barbecue flavor. If you have ground chipotle chile powder instead of smoked paprika, I think you could omit the cayenne and replace the paprika with 1 teaspoon of the chipotle chile powder (or part regular paprika and part chipotle chile powder) for a similar flavor. It will come out quite a bit hotter though.
