DAVID
I am a 40 year old man with a wife and one teenage daughter. I was never heavy but stocky up until June 1999 when I had had the first of my three back surgeries. A year later I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, arthritis, GERD, and was on two oral diabetic meds, a BP med, Celebrex, and an insulin pump running at around 125-150 units a day. I started to put the weight on and by October 2005, I weighed a whopping 345 lbs.

I started this low carb WOL and have came down to my current 232 pounds and I have also come off of all meds including the insulin pump and ALL insulin! I started my low carb journey when I saw George Stella on the Food Network and joined his site. Along with a lot of George's and Linda's recipes, I have accomplished what I have done so far.

I am a Pre-natal nurse and I have gone from a size 52 waist to a current size 40 and from a size 22 shirt to a 17 1/2. My rings had to be resized from a 16 to a 12 1/2 as well. I feel so much better after being without those high carb foods and really seem to notice that they didn't really taste that well after all. I will never go back to that WOE again!

I am now getting a lot closer to my goal so I am starting to watch my fat along with my carbs and just try to eat healthier over all. I now watch ingredient lists a lot more which is why I enjoy Linda's recipes so well. Simple and easy with me always knowing what is in the food I am eating. I hope this helps. I encourage everyone out there who is doubtful and wanting to try this to do it and give it just 2-3 weeks and see the results! My cholesterol alone went from 386 to 142, my triglycerides from 488 to 76 and my HA1 C went from a 12 down to a 4.2 WITHOUT any insulin or meds now.
